My Pregnancy Skincare | Pure Calmille by Yves Rocher

Pure Calmille by Yves Rocher
Being pregnant also mostly means I have to avoid a lot of chemicals that contain within skincare. I've been doing some research on what kind of chemicals to avoid, and also some website claims that these chemicals won't affect your pregnancy if it's used in moderate amount (which I have no clue on how moderate, is moderate). So, sticking to a better safe than sorry method, let's limit ourselves to less chemicals during pregnancy to avoid any unnecessary reactions.

Beauty ingredients to avoid during preganncy
I've been following thebump for more pregnancy tips and according to the site, the main ingredients to avoid or limit would be Retinoids, Tetracycline, Salicylic Acid, and Benzoyl Peroxide. Generally, I noticed that most acne treatment skincare contains most of these ingredients, so if youre on an acne skincare routine, be sure to keep a lookout on the ingredients. Thus this leads me to look for a more natural brand that focuses on natural ingredients, and that's how I leaned towards Yves Rocher.

Since I just wanted minimal skincare usage for myself during my pregnancy, I was opting for skincare that is more calming and gentle for the skin and apparently, the salesperson in the store recommended me the Pure Calmille Range as its also suitable for those with sensitive skin as well. This being my second purchase, I just had to share how amazing this product has been to me while complimenting my hormones of that natural pregnancy glowing skin. hehe. Let's hop into the review and my thoughts on this.

REVIEWING PURE CALMILLE

Pure Calmille Cleansing Gel - RM27
Gel texture does not foam too much
I bought myself the Pure Calmille Cleansing Gel and the Pure Calmille Moisturizing Cream that is both formulated out of organically-grown camomile from La Gacilly. So, im usually never a fan of gel cleansers, but after giving the Pure Calmille Cleansing Gel a go, I am hooked! The cleanser really smells like chamomile, so that a downside if youre not a fan of floral scent. But as a cleanser, it really cleanses well despite my skin being oily at the end of the day. Plus, after washing it off every single time, it leaves this naturally cool feeling on my skin and at the same time maintaining the moisture of my skin. Just to clarify what im trying to say, it doesn't leave your skin with that squeaky clean feeling that makes youre skin feel tight.

Pure Calmille Moisturizing Cream - RM46
Very rich cream texture
Does not require a lot to spread around face
After cleansing, i then use the Pure Calmille Moisturizing Cream to just lock in the moisture while protecting my skin with a layer of cream. The cream is designed to naturally soften while providing protective properties to the skin. In terms of long term usage, i can actually see improvements of my skin especially when it comes to keeping it soft and bouncy. I would not recommend using this in thick application as the cream is very rich and not exactly lightweight, but after leaving it on for a while, the cream would slowly feel lighter as the skin absorbs the nutrients. It leaves a heavy Chamomile scent, but if you can bare with it, then I'd say its a good cream to use.

INGREDIENTS

93% made our of naturally sourced ingredients
Colourrant free, mineral oil free and paraben free
Both the cleanser and the moisturizing cream contains more than 93% ingredients from natural origins and the packaging is made out of recyclable containers to promote their support in ensuring they are sustainably managed without harming mother nature. And the best part is in fact that both these products do not contain Retinoids, Tetracycline, Salicylic Acid, and Benzoyl Peroxide, and are free from colorant, mineral oils and paraben making it pregnancy safe on my list.

Feel amazing throughout the day
Well, im going to keep this post short and thank you for getting this far into my short sharing session on my pregnancy skincare. I find these two very much essential for daily usage to keep my skin feeling clean and protected throughout the day without affecting the baby's development. My advice to mom's who are pregnant too, just keep your skincare simple to prevent any unwanted consequences. I'll be honest that the downside of Yves Rocher products is that their shelf life is only 6 months after opening, but since I believe they are more natural based, natural ingredients usually would not last that long when it comes to shelf life. Another thing to consider about this skincare range is that it really smells like Camomile. I find the scent a little strong, but I can bare with it since it feels good on my skin.

Consider this if youre looking for skincare that is safe for all skin types
I hope this post was helpful for those who are looking for safe natural skincare, and also to those who are seeking pregnancy safe products to accompany you throughout your pregnancy journey. Im already in my 3rd trimester, and I haven't changed skincare ever since I started using this. Price is fairly reasonable and if you ask me if I'd repurchase, it's a definite yes! I've left their official sites for you to check out below, so if youre interested to know more about the brand, please feel free to check out their social sites. hehe.

  1. Congrats on your pregnancy and thank you for sharing your thoughts on Yves Rocher products :) I'm not pregnant, but definitely love trying new skincare products and I haven't had anything from this brand before. I look forward to try the cleansing gel and also the moisturising cream.
