Marco Creative Cuisine introduces the 7 multi course meal |
|
Exotic Jellyfishes to welcome you as you enter |
|
Loving the Tiffany blue interior too! |
Marco Creative Cuisine is an ultra-modern
gastronomic restaurant by Chef Daren, leavening the dining experience with a sense of excitement and a touch of adventure, located in 1 Utama, Ground Floor (old wing). Since I had a chance to dine in Marco Creative Cuisines, I'll be sharing with you about the current hype of their
7-course creative cuisine which is priced at RM78+ (inclusive GST) per person to experience fine dining the way it should be. And what's even better? As you enter the space, you'll be g
reeted by exotic jellyfishes at the entrance. Trust me, it's mesmerizing.
PALATE CLEANSER
|
Matcha-Lime Shooter |
Before you dig into your meal, you'll be served with a
palate cleanser to clean your palate. (I guess that's what its suppose to do) LOL. I don't think I've ever had a palate cleanser before, so this is pretty new to me. On the menu, it states that I'll be served with a
velvety matcha-lime shooter. For a second there, since it came in a mini coffee cup, I swear I thought it was green tea, but once I got a sip of it, it had a
pleasant lime mint taste (so do expect it to taste sour). It was surprising
really refreshing and if I could have another round of it, I would!
APPETISER
|
Savoury Eclair |
And a few minutes later I was then served with my appetizer which would be a
Savoury Eclair. The menu had a description saying that it's Gruyere Flavoured Pate a Choux decorated with Aubergine Caviar, Green Chile Pesto, and Tomato Confit. Yeah, I know, if you're feeling confused, I was even more confused, but being Malaysian,
as long as its food, I'll just swallow. HAHA. This actually
tasted really light, and it has a bitter herbs taste which was odd to me but heck its fancy. Theres no reason not to savor every bite of this.
SOUP
|
Strawberry Gazpacho |
Next would be the selection of soup, from the menu you can choose between Strawberry Gazpacho, French Onion Soup or Truffled Mushroom Soup. And if you guessed it, I decided to go a little more exotic by
picking the Strawberry Gazpacho. Assuming that it would taste creamy, but if you're thinking of testing this, be prepared for a
sourish intake. It was indeed something really different, and if you're reading this,
I shall warn you that it's super savory! It may take you a while to finish this compared to the French Onion Soap and the Truffled Mushroom Soup, but if you're looking for long conversations with your companion, then why not!
ENTRÉE
|
Liver Parfait |
|
Savoury Ice Cream Salad |
I've always thought whatever listed in this section is considered as an appetizer, but at Marco Creative Cuisine, its considered as an entrée. Now in this section, you can choose either to have the chicken liver parfait, the garden plater or savoury ice cream salad. Again, since I'm a sweet tooth in person,
i went for the savoury ice cream salad (CAUSE ITS ICE CREAM + SALAD!). Never in my life had I thought that Ice Cream and salad can actually go pretty well. But this isn't your ordinary ice cream, cause it actually had a
savory salty taste that actually compliments the salad really well. In fact, the ice cream actually made the salad taste sweeter. I'm not kidding.
MAINS
|
Salmon with Jet Black Hollandaise |
|
Duck Breast with Orange Purée and Roasted Beetroot |
|
Chicken Roulade with Brussels Sprouts |
And after 4 courses, it's finally time for the main course! The
menu listed about 6 options to choose from and I would say that every dish has a character of its own. Be it wester cuisines, Asian, or a fusion,
Marco Creative Cuisine has got it all covered to make sure that you'll have something to cater to your tastebuds.
|
Squid Ink Japonica Rice |
Since I was a little hungry that night, I went for an
Asian twist by having Squid Ink Japonica Rice. My dish featured Japanese short grain rice cooked with squid ink, accompanied with juicy prawns, baby squid, and omelet served with garlic mayonnaise. What I love the most about the dish was that it was
prepared to perfection!
Texture, portion, freshness, I tasted everything and I'm satisfied with my order, and the fact that the grains of rice just melts in your mouth cause it was just that good! (Just talking about it, makes me want to go back for more. haha)
DESSERTS
|
Deconstructed Lemon Meringue Pie |
|
Raspberry Decadence |
What's a meal without completing it with desserts! You can either choose to have the Deconstructed Lemon Meringue Pie, Rasberry Decadence or the Créme Brülée with White Chocolate Sherbet and in my case,
I just had to go for the Rasberry Decadence as I love raspberries! The Rasberry Decadence is a luscious raspberry cheesecake with raspberry gel accompanied by lemon meringue shards and passion fruit gel making it look as if its a piece of artwork. Trust me, the minute I received my dish, it felt as if
I had a setting of candy land in my plate. Being it raspberry and cheesecake, to those who love a sourish taste, this would be the dessert for you.
DRINKS
|
Sparkling Iced Berry |
|
Frech Press Coffee |
To end your 7-course meal, you will be
given a drink of your choice where you can either have loose leaves tea, sparkling iced berry or french press coffee. I was dining at night at the time, which automatically made me pick the sparkling iced berry. (and a sudden realization that I think I've been obsessed with berries in this post). HAHA, Yes. The Sparkling Iced Berry in simpler terms tasted like
berry soda and was indeed refreshing to me if you're looking for something not too savory to wash everything down.
VERDICT
|
Be sure to make reservations if you're planning to take someone special out |
As a verdict, i would have to say that it was indeed an
exciting journey of flavours at Marco Creative Cuisine. And at a steal deal of
RM78+/person for a 7-course meal, that makes each dish served only at about RM11/dish. That's insanely affordable when it comes to fine dining. Another thing that i would like to emphasize would be that
your dish would be served based on where you sit. Thus there is no such thing as the waiter asking for reassurance of your dish being served to you. Talk about classy ey? And to think about it, its just a drive away to 1 Utama, to experience it all again! YAY! Well I guess I shall end my post here, details on location and contact would be below:
