[REVIEW] Yankee Candle Votive Sampler

There's just something about candles that relaxes the body in a very mystical way, like yknow when you're in bed and there's just one small flame releasing scents that de-stresses the body. You get the idea right?  Well, I found out that Yankee Candle offers the world's largest and most compelling selection of scented candles and other home fragrance products. FYI, Yankee Candle has a cute story of how it was found. 17-year-old Mike Kittredge was too broke to buy his mother a present, so he melted some crayons to make her a candle. A neighbour saw it and convinced Mike to sell the candle to her, so he bought enough wax to make two candles, one for his mom, and another to sell. And that you guys, was the birth of Yankee Candle!

Yankee Candle was introduced to Malaysia in 2014 by Ultimate Senses Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Yankee Candle in Malaysia and as of 2016, they have already 5 stores in Malaysia (Great Eastern Mall, Sunway Pyramid, One Utama, The Gardens mall and IOI Putrajaya). And since I was already at the Sunway Pyramid store, the previous photos that you've seen are some sneak peaks on how the store looks. And psst, a little bird also told me that they'll be relocating to a new store in Sunway Pyramid soon! YAY

My picks of Yankee Candle Votive Samplers

So since I was there, i just had to bring some back! The store definitely smells amazing with all these candles everywhere. I decided to bring back the sampler votive home and here are some things that you need to know about it. The Sampler Votive is produced by pressure, not pouring, which is produced by spraying wax to the air that's then dried by the cool air to make the wax look like beads. These beads are then pressured to shape the wax.

The Votive Samplers were on sale when i was there, where it's priced at RM24.90 for any 3 scents of your choice saving you up to 40% of discounts. Not too bad, and I say why not! I got a few sniffs from the collection, and I found myself falling for Sun & Sand, Pink Sands, and Sage & Citrus. The Sun & sand and Pink Sands smells like the beach (cause I'm a beach girl) while the Sage & Citrus is more therapeutic when it comes to the scent. If you're a first timer purchasing Yankee Candles like me, Votive Samplers are the way to go as it contains the same great Yankee candle fragrance as found in their large jars, and it's a perfect way to sample a new fragrance before going BIG. hehe.

HOW TO USE

Cut at least half of the current length of the wick before burning. 

Since each Votive Samplers are individually packed without any instructions, the staff at the store was nice enough to share with me on how to use the candle. First you may need to remove the plastic wrap that's locking in the scent so that its fresh each time you use it, then you may need to cut at least half of the cotton wicks to prevent the flame from growing bigger than it should (refer to image above). Place the Votive Sampler candle in a candle holder, and burn the Premium self-extinguishing wicks, and you're good for an enjoyable fragrance filling up the entire room.

THE OUTCOME

And tadaa! Here's how it looks like when its burnt, i placed this in an air-conditioned living room,and the smell just went around the room smelling line the beach. If you're a beach girl like me, give this scent ago. My living room isn't that big, so I'd say that this candle would do justice for small rooms. Psst, here's a cheat for you guys ; To make the candle last longer, put 2 drops of water inside the votive holder to moist the glass so that the candle can be easily taken out. Each Votive Sampler would last up to 12-15 hours, but in my case, I'm burning it only when i need it to make sure it last longer than it should. hehe.
