'Klasik Raya' At Sunway Putra Mall

Its that time of the year again, and what is there really to not love about the Ramadhan festive season? Sunway Putra Mall launched their Klasik Taya named after the contemporary classic decorations to enlighten the festive season  for 2016. Taking centre stage, located on the main concourse is a 60's theatre (also known as 'Panggung') surrounded by quaint vintage shop houses, a vintage car and oil lamps to complete the 60's environment.

I'm thankful to be invited as their media guest with 30 Yayasan Chow Kit (YCK) children for an early Raya celebration. Classic songs were played as I arrived, and it really felt like I had travelled to the pass. The colours and lights were an attractive attraction, attracting many passers-by's to stop and appreciate the ambience.

Signalling the launch at the panggung, we had a moment of Lights, Camera and Action to officially launch the Klasik Raya initiative done by Sunway Putra Mall for their customers to enjoy the festive season. The crowd was entertained with some classic pop dance movement featuring nostalgic songs like Mambo, Bila Mama Pakai Celana and others which were the hit in the 1960's.

But i guess the official highlight of the day was that we had a special appearance, Greyson Chance and Nik Qistina to welcome the festive season at Sunway Putra Mall. With the crowd screaming and yelling over the performance, it was really nice to have such a memorable moment to see these amazing stars in person and up close!

Sunway Putra Mall also officiates a Food Bank, a corporate social responsibility campaign initiated by the management and the Touching Lives club Association, where the campaign aims to encourage shoppers to donate nonperishable food items to the less fortunate as an act to support and also help them during this festive season. I was told that this campaign will run until 2017 and the first collection will start from 20th June to 26th June 2016. Donations will also be distributed to Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih, Sg. Penchala before Hari Raya.

The launch ended with Tan Sri Razman and his wife giving out Raya Packets to the children of YCK to brighten up their day, followed by a buka puasa session with members of the media, partners and the children of YCK to enjoy a memorable buka puasa at Sunway Putra Mall.

With so many activities going on, Sunway Putra Mall offers screenings of P.Ramlee's best known classical films throughout the festive season such as Bujang Lapok, Tiga Abdul, and Madu Tiga to name a few. So if you happen to be in Sunway Putra Mall, be sure to check out the screening from 10am to 10pm on selected dates which I will state at the end of this post. Shoppers will also be entertained with dance performance inspired from the 60's, fashion shows, art and craft sessions and card designing for the festive season of Raya.
