The Body Shop's British Rose ; Body Essence and Gel Body Scrub Review

With Valentines day just around the corner, The Body Shop has always been prepared to a be a part of any season of the year that we celebrate, and for this year, they've jut recently introduced their latest range, the British Rose. The minute i saw them on the shelves, i just couldn't resist myself! And i guess, you can pretty much tell that im a fan of roses huh? hehe. So today, i got my hands on these two babies, British Rose Instant Glow Body Essence and The British Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub, which i will be giving it a review for you guys!

First up for review would be the British Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub. And as we all know, exfoliating scrubs are usually to smoothen and refines the skin. But you have to agree that most scrubs can be pretty rough on the skin if. What makes the British Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub different, would be that this is a 'gel' body scrub!

What makes gel scrubs better than normal scrubs? Well, as a start, the British Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub has a jelly like texture which has tiny micro beads with real petals within the content of the product. This is my first time to encounter a scrub so different than the rest, and on top of that, it smells amazing! Some rose products can smell rather sourish, but this smelt heavenly! If the scent had a character, it would be classy and feminine.

Very gentle texture

The texture of the product had a jelly-like texture, and it literally felt like youre spreading jam on your hands. Hehe. I personally was amazed on how the gel texture effortlessly melts onto the surface of the skin. I dont know about you, but i always find it satisfying to scrub all the dead skin away, to achieve baby butt skin. hehe

So after a good 5 minute scrub, i went to wash my hands, and i can proudly say that the product smoothens and refines the skin really well. On top of that, it also left a really pleasant scent on my hand. When you shower and scrub with the British Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub, you may not need to wear any perfume because the smell really stays.

Next would be the British Rose Instant Glow Body Essence, which happens to be the latest product by Body Shop. The name of the product itself got me to raise my eyebrows. At first glance, i actually thought i was a body lotion, but then, i realised that it was glowing under the light with slight shades of shimmery pink, which really got my attention.

And of course, The Body Shop has never fail to ensure that the design of the bottle is convenient and functional. I have to say that i love the lock system on bottles like these because when im travelling, i wont be too worried that the content would accidentally slide out from the bottle, and it would end up messing up my entire luggage.

Its actually shimmering!

Here im trying it out by pumping one pump onto my hand to evaluate the texture of this Instant Glow Body Essence. It may not be clear enough, but if you see it under the light, you can see the essence glowing in shimmering pink. I have to admit that i was really fascinated with the essence, but i guess, i was more worried about if its leaves a sticky feel on the skin. Lets find out!

Texture description

I was actually shocked that the texture was rather watery and it was really smooth to spread it out on the skin. I would say that the essence left a really light texture on the skin and that its very gentle once applied. It literally felt like as if youre playing with rose petals.

Dont worry about the shimmering content, cause im aware that you dont want to end up looking like a vampire under the sun. Hehe. But i tried my best to describe the shimmering shade it leaves on the skin. From the photos, the shimmering is not at all obvious and it really makes your skin glow instantly. This might just be my favourite Body Shop product yet! Please make more Instant Glow Body Essence Body Shop!

Verdict

Now, what would i say about the product? I would say that its a YAY! I dont think any girl would say no to products like these, cause the British Rose range really knows how to pamper a woman with the alluring scent of British Rose. After scrubbing myself with the British Rose Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub, my skin literally felt refreshed and smoother. After showering, i applied the British Rose Instant Glow Body Essence to give a natural glow to my skin.With these two products on your side, you may not need to worry about smelling good the minute you walk out of the bathroom. hehe
