Official Launch of Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon

If you were born from the 90's onwards, im sure that Nickelodeon is no stranger to you. Sunway Lagoon has recently discovered a hidden world covering ten acres of lush tropical rainforest within a jungle and this happens to be the first Nickelodeon themed attraction in asia, known as the Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon in Sunway Lagoon in Malaysia.

The launch was attended by guest of honour, Selangor Chief Minister, Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Bin Ali, Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah, Than Sri Datuk Seri Razman M. Hashim, Sunway Group deputy chairman and Mark Whitehead, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, VMN Asia.

Slime time anyone?

Attendees at the launch event were privy to a showcase of fireworks and the iconic Nickelodeons green slime that marked the opening of the park to the public! Being there in person, i can assure to you that no stone was left unturned in the creation of the Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon which adds up to 14 new attractions to the park which features Spongebob Squarepants, Dora the Explorer and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The Spongebob Squarepants structure

The Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon features the Wonder steps and the Explorers trail where visitors of the park will pass the pineapple columns and intricate carvings leading to the lost lagoon. The centre piece of the park would be the magnificent Spongebob Squarepants structure that features geysers, sprouting water cannons, walks along cascading falls and gooey moments with the signature green slime.

With so many things to do, its unlikely that you will ever run out of choices to choose from. You can run deeper into the forest where they have suspended bridges over rivers, wet and wild activities, and also gravity defying rides that twist around trees and hills! On a hot sunny day, this would be a dream water park to those who enjoy playing with water.

Visitors will also be able to dine and relax at the Mystical Terrace, or shop for souvenirs to bring back as a memory from an enjoyable day with friends and family at the theme park.  The park was really well thought off to only provide the best for their visitors with an investment of more than RM100 million to build up the Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon for a top-notch family based fun to Sunway Lagoons's collection.

Be sure to keep a look out for the timing to meet and greet the characters, enjoy the tribal drums by tribesman to dance to the beat of the drums and of course, you cant miss the slime time before leaving the park. There will be lockers for rent if youre concern about where to place your bag in too!

Admission rates

The admission rate for sunway Lagoon is at RM150 for those aged 12 years and above, and RM120 for those below the age of 12 years. But if you have a Mykad, which is only if youre Malaysian, you are entitled to pay at a Malaysian rate. Sunway Lagoon was namely Asia's Best Attraction by International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions for four years in a row since 2007!

So there you have it! Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon opens to the public on 3rd February 2016. Opening hours will be from 10am to 6pm every Monday to Sunday. Be sure to enjoy many attractions while youre there, such as the Extreme Park, Amusement Park, Water Park, Scream Park, and the Wild life park too! With all the excitement, i cant wait to plan my visit to get wet and wild at Sunway Lagoon.
